Wairo (traditional Japanese colours) refers to colours based on Japan’s historical colour names and aesthetic sensibilities. These colours draw inspiration from natural landscapes, plants, animals, and cultural elements, and have been used since ancient times.
This sashiko thread is ideal for traditional sashiko stitching as well as decorative hanafukin (embroidered cloths). Made from 100% soft cotton, it offers a gentle touch and is easy to stitch with, making it suitable for beginners through to advanced makers.
The thread is used as-is, without separating the strands.
